An elegant tapered cone top leads into a bowl shaped bottom. Crafted from handbeaten solid copper with a polished copper interior. Perfect for lighting the kitchen, dinning room, lounge, kitchen island or any area.

Excludes: Lamp holder and electrical cord. Please purchase the electrical fitting at your local hardware/electrical store.

THE STORY OF COPPER

  • Copper is an important mineral for the human body and has been used for millenia in promoting good health and vitality. It is essential in the creation of red blood cells and helps maintain healthy bones, blood vessels, nerves, and immune system.
  • Copper when mixed with 10% tin results in bronze; mixed with 30% zinc makes brass; and nearly all coins in modern currencies around the world, both silver and gold are made from a combination of copper and nickel.
  • Copper is a natural antimicrobial, helping to prevent the growth and spread of germs on its surface. It kills more than 99.9% of Bacteria on its surface in under 2 hours and viruses in under 4 hours!
  • Copper is one of the few materials that is 100% recyclable and it is estimated that more than 80% of all mined copper is still in use today.
  • Most commonly found as an ore called Chalcopyrite (Fools Gold), copper has a melting point of 1084° Celcius.
  • Around 5000 years ago it was discovered that by mixing raw copper with a small amount of tin, a new harder and more durable metal could be created, hence the birth of the Bronze Age.
  • Its first use by early man was in the making of primitive tools and weapons.
  • Copper was the first metal to ever be used by man, as early as 8000BC.
  • Copper’s use in plumbing dates right back to the early Egyptians.
  • Natural copper is also positively charged so is excellent when used for washing, bathing or drinking vessels by causing positive ionization of the water.
  • Copper has incredible thermodynamic properties, able to keep liquids hotter for longer, meaning longer baths and hotter drinks.

CARING FOR YOUR COPPER

  • Use only a mild soap and soft cloth (microfiber) to clean surfaces.
  • Wipe baths and basins dry after use to avoid buildup of soap residues and hard water scale.
  • Apply a thin coat of natural beeswax polish to all surfaces to protect and maintain luster.
  • To prevent discoloration or surface damage avoid using acids or alkalines on your copper product.
  • Being a natural elemental material, your copper creation will slowly change and patinate over the course of time. Enjoy the journey together.
